Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality completed the construction of a 79-kilometer bicycle path in order to popularize the bicycle, which is an environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation, and to use it conveniently, safely and comfortably in the city center.
Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its infrastructure works to popularize the bicycle, which contributes to health by providing the opportunity to exercise and is an important tool for green transportation, continues to develop its bicycle path network to ensure safe driving in the city. Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, which is advancing step by step towards the goal of 150 kilometers of bicycle paths by expanding its bicycle path network in 2025, aims to ensure that bicycle transportation continues uninterrupted with the innovative solutions it brings. The completed bicycle paths stand out as an important alternative for transportation to areas such as schools and residences in the city center, while providing safe driving opportunities in parks and traffic lines.
40 bicycle parking spaces completed
The Metropolitan Municipality has built bicycle parking spaces at 40 locations to prevent irregular bicycle and scooter parks from causing negativities. In addition, 74 thousand 355 people were trained for conscious bicycle use. Usage data is also collected with 2 bicycle counters placed on the bicycle path.
Bicycle repair stations provide great convenience
In order to popularize the use of bicycles, the Metropolitan Municipality donated bicycles to students and various professional groups. In addition, with the GaziBis system established, 107 shared bicycles were put into service at 7 different stations. On the other hand, bicycle repair stations were installed to prevent malfunctions that may occur during bicycle use. These stations have tools that allow you to inflate tires and perform minor repairs, thus contributing to the continuity of bicycle use.
