Bicycle Repair Stations Are Being Established in Nilüfer

Halil ÖZÇOBAN/BURSA, (DHA)- Nilüfer Municipality in BURSA has started to establish bicycle repair and maintenance stations in order to provide instant solutions to the problems in the use of bicycles, which are a healthy and environmentally friendly means of transportation. The first station started to serve in Altınşehir District as a pilot application.

In Nilüfer, one of the leading districts of Turkey with the length of bicycle paths it has, bicycle repair and maintenance stations are also coming into play after the smart bicycle rental system “Nilespit” established by Nilüfer Municipality. The first of the bicycle repair and maintenance stations, which will serve the people of Nilüfer who prefer to use bicycles for transportation and sports, started to serve as a pilot application in Altınşehir District, Rasim Şahinkaya Park and Koşu Road.

The station, which was put into operation within the framework of European Mobility Week events, was introduced by Nilüfer Deputy Mayor Dr. Sibel Özer and Engin Yener also attended. Yener said, “We attach importance to bicycle repair stations so that our citizens can instantly solve the technical problems they encounter while using bicycles. We aim to increase their numbers rapidly. Ready to use inside the bike repair station; “There is an allen set, a wrench set, a screwdriver set, wheel levers for removing and installing tires, a tire inflation pump with a double-head indicator, and a pedal wrench suitable for bicycle use only. Not only bicycles, but also the cars and baby strollers of our disabled citizens can be repaired at our repair station,” he said.
