Bicycle Repair Stations at 26 Points in the Metropolitan Municipality

While Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues to distribute bicycles to 44 thousand 400 children within the scope of the Come to the Mosque with Laughing Laughs project, it also provides information about traffic by donating helmets for the safety of children. The Metropolitan Municipality established bicycle repair stations at 26 locations in the city center for the repair of bicycles. The stations have ready-to-use tools for bicycle repair.

44 thousand 400 children who were entitled to buy bicycles by coming to morning prayer for 40 days in the Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Güle Oyunya Camiye Gel project continue to receive their bicycles. While distribution continues in rural districts in line with the calendar determined by the Metropolitan Municipality, children who will have their bicycles in the center as of September 11 are being informed about traffic.

WE GIVE HELMETS AS A GIFT TO CHILDREN WHO BUY A BICYCLE

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they gifted helmets to children along with the bicycles and said, “This issue is extremely important. We distribute helmets to our children in order to ensure safer cycling and to encourage cycling. Thanks to these helmets, our youth and children will use bicycles more safely. “In addition to distributing helmets, we also inform our children about traffic.”

BICYCLE REPAIR STATIONS WERE ESTABLISHED AT 26 POINTS

Mayor Altay said that they established bicycle repair stations in 26 points of the city in order to produce instant solutions to the negativities that may be experienced in the use of bicycles, which are a healthier and more environmentally friendly means of transportation. Altay said, “We established bicycle repair stations at various points of the city in order to instantly solve the technical problems our citizens encounter while using bicycles. Our bicycle repair stations include a ready-to-use hexagon set, wrench set, screwdriver set, levers for removing and installing tires, an inflation pump and a pedal wrench that can only be used on bicycles. “Not only bicycles but also the cars and strollers of our disabled citizens can be repaired at these stations,” he said.
